FIFA World Cup Betting Probabilities Argentina vs Mexico

No team has been more exciting to watch in the course of the 2010 World Cup probabilities online betting competition as Argentina and no squad has been as extraordinary. Ironically, the Argentine squad came to the South African World Cup online sports betting competition with all sorts of question marks hanging over its head and, in fact, scarcely even qualified for the World Cup probabilities contest in the first place.

But credit and apologies to Maradona, the craziest SOB to ever coach a World Cup team, due to the fact his team is playing light out right now.

After torching its Group B competition for three wins in 3 matches and scoring 7 goals along the way this team is the closest thing to soccer wagering juggernaut as you’ll find in the World Cup gambling action right now.

The Mexicans ought to be pitied.

Mexico has a pretty great looking squad in its own right and versus nearly any other team on this side of the World Cup odds draw they would have had a nice shot and could even make a great underdog pick. The all-around play of this team is impressive and it’s challenging to pinpoint just one weakness. In 1 of the toughest groups in the World Cup betting event, Group A, this team lost a hard 1-0 decision to Uruguay in the final match but was otherwise extraordinary.

This team should have been at its top when it took on Argentina but regrettably it was not enough to get by this South American titan and into the World Cup betting quarterfinals. Mexico’s best shot would have been to slow the competition down, eliminate the passing lanes and stuff as many defenders as possible in front of the box and stop any balls from getting through to the Argentine striking corps of Messi, Tevez, Higuain and Milito.

The final score of 3-1 was relatively dubious but fairly much came down to a superior Argentine team having their way with a struggling Mexican offense. Argentina is so fast and so great in the open field and counter attack that it would have been suicide for Mexico to even attempt an offensive game plan.

The game opened up with Mexico’s Carlos Salcido getting a point in the 8th minute. Things looked good for the Mexican squad until Tevez got his first goal and the tide of the match changed. Mexico just could not get the ball away from Argentina long enough to score from that point on.

Carlos Tevez scored a goal 2 times — one time on a disputed goal — and Gonzalo Higuain added an additional as the Albiceleste beat Mexico 3-1 on Sunday to proceed into the quarterfinals.

The 2nd goal, obtained by Tevez by heading in a pass from Lionel Messi in the 26th minute, was a problem. Tevez was clearly offside when he butted it in. But after consulting with his linesman while surrounded by irritated Mexican and Argentine participants, the referee awarded the goal.

The Albiceleste has earned this match and is now 1 match closer to the World Cup wagering finals. They’ve advanced to the quarterfinals where they are going to compete with Germany.
